Risks and opportunities associated with environmental and social metrics are increasingly scrutinized by investors and other stakeholders along with traditional business performance indicators. It is important for companies to align their sustainability initiatives and reporting to meet the growing demands of key stakeholders. Companies must carefully consider the issues most material to their stakeholders in order to develop metrics, collect relevant data, measure impacts and provide reporting that meets the needs of their audience.
This course will look at corporate sustainability through the lens of AccountAbility’s AA1000 Series of Standards. AccountAbility has recently released a new principle “Impact”, that requires measurement.

- This specialized five-day course is aimed at Corporate Sustainability Managers (Directors, VPs),and Project Managers responsible for annual reporting and implementing sustainability and CSR initiatives in organizations.

Module A: Foundation in corporate responsibility and sustainability
Module B: Foundation in stakeholder engagement
Module C: Foundation in sustainability reporting
Module D: Assurance practitioner training
Modules A, B and C provide participants with knowledge on social responsibility, stakeholder engagement and sustainability reporting. Module D permits delegates to take a close look at issues related to assurance, and through a practical exercise apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the course.

Certification and the CSAP programme
Successful completion of the course leads to an AccountAbility approved certificate. The course fulfils the training requirements to apply for the Associate level of the Certified Sustainability Assurance Practitioner (CSAP) programme. It also contributes significantly towards the requirements of becoming a CSAP or Lead CSAP.
